MACPOLO Governance

This organization of referees, named MACPOLO (Marin, Alameda and Contra Costa) has been established to serve high school, community college and 4-year college water polo programs. The increased popularity of Water Polo, particularly among women throughout the United States, warranted the establishment of this association dedicated and committed solely to the sport of water polo. Our contract for services include scheduling, assigning and payment of referees as well as all managing details associated with invoicing schools and colleges. Our organization assigns referees for all league, non-league and tournament games hosted by schools under contract with MACPOLO.

In 2010, MACPOLO, in addition to schools in the East Bay has been retained as assigners for the Peninsula Athletic League (PAL) as well as the Community Colleges in the Coast Conference.

Our primary purpose is to enhance participation in high school and community college Water Polo for referees, coaches, players, and spectators. MACPOLO is an assigning association accredited by the California Interscholastic Federation. Its service area currently ranges geographically between Ukiah in the north, San Joaquin Valley in the east, to Palo Alto on the Peninsula. We are pleased to announce that in 2010, MAC POLO has contracted its services to approximately 70 high schools and 9 community colleges who compete within a variety of athletic leagues in Northern California.
